GDT WPY winners announced!

I am delighted to let you know that three of my images have been awarded at the GDT Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, which is undoubtedly the most prestigious nature photo competition in Europe (you can find all awarded images from previous contests here: http://www.gdtfoto.de/content.php?siteloc=29)!
One of my pictures about the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland became the Runner-up of the “Landscapes” category. It shows the ash plume of the volcano at sunset, with some clouds and the Eyjafjöll mountain below.

This image about a flock of red knots feeding on coastal rocks in Iceland is very similar to Erlend’s winning image at the BBC WPY (see previous blog). The judges of the two competitions had a slightly different taste:)

Gratulerer, du er flink du :-)

Since 2005, we have travelled together as a team, constantly being on the move to capture those memorable experiences in nature, with our cameras in our hands. Our projects capture different parts of the "Cap of the North", in a never-ending search for eye-catching scenes, and the magic light that is so characteristic of this region. It is the desire to get back to our roots – to live with nature that inspires us to create the images that we do.
